Radiant Opto-Electronics Completes Acquisition of NILT

Radiant Opto-Electronics (ROE) Corporation, based in Taiwan and a leader in backlight module technologies, has completed the acquisition of Denmark-based NIL Technology (NILT), recognised for its innovative meta-optics and nanostructured flat optics solutions.

Founded in 2006, NILT has led advancements in nanostructured flat optics, progressing from research and prototyping to scaling its manufacturing for high-volume production. With increasing demand for meta-optics, NILT has matured its technology across the value chain, positioning itself as a prominent player in the industry.

NILT will continue operating independently, ensuring uninterrupted support for its customers in the design, prototyping, and mass production of meta-optics. Additionally, NILT will maintain its other business activities, such as imprint masters, nano-foundry services, and the CNI imprint tool.

Nanocomp production is based on UV roll-to-roll imprinting with inhouse UV lacquer. Key technologies, including optical design and direct laser lithography, enable Nanocomp to produce complex freeform microstructures.
