DNP Backs Laxton for Global Authentication Expansion
Dai Nippon Printing (DNP), a leading Japanese technology and printing company, has signed a share transfer agreement to acquire 75% of Rubicon SEZC, a Cayman Islands-based holding company of the Laxton Group, specialists in biometric identity solutions.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in July 2025 and forms part of DNP’s global expansion acceleration plan for its authentication and security business.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. By integrating Laxton’s solutions, DNP aims to enhance its capabilities and broaden its reach, particularly in Africa, where there is a growing demand for robust identity verification systems.
This partnership presents immediate opportunities for DNP in IC cards and card printers, as well as long-term potential in areas such as Know Your Customer (KYC) initiatives and digital identity platforms.
