Toppan Acquires HID Citizen Identity Solutions

Toppan Holdings has announced a definitive agreement to acquire the Citizen Identity Solutions (CID) division of HID Global from Assa Abloy, marking a significant move in the global identity solutions market.

According to the company, the acquisition, conducted through its subsidiary, Toppan Gravity, underscores Toppan’s ambition to strengthen its foothold in the rapidly evolving identity verification landscape, where digital and physical identity systems increasingly converge.

With over 450 employees and a presence in several countries, including Ireland, Malta, and the US, HID’s CID division has established itself as a trusted provider of secure identity solutions for governments worldwide. Specialising in both physical and digital identity systems, the CID division has delivered government-issued identity documents and mobile identities in over 50 countries, including mobile IDs and digital travel credentials.
