Texas Hospital First to Use Holobox for Connecting Patients

Crescent Regional Hospital (CRH) in Lancaster, Texas, has become the first hospital in the US to use Holobox holographic technology from Holoconnects to connect remote patients.

The hospital has installed its first hologram display and video studio, which enables physicians to teleport as life-size 3D holograms and connect with patients in real-time. CRH plans to integrate mini versions of the displays at several locations within the hospital and associated clinics. The immediate use cases of the technology include virtual consultations for pre and post-surgery, virtual rounds with patients and hospitalists, specialist consultations, and patient education.

‘The Holobox technology has been operational at our facility for approximately two months, and patients are highly enthusiastic about interacting with a virtual representation of their doctor, as it provides them with the sensation of the doctor being physically present’, said Raji Kumar, CEO, CRH.
