Stensborg Launches Desktop R2P NanoImprinter

It’s been three years since Stensborg A/S launched the HoloPrint® uniA6 DT, and now an improved version, the Desktop R2P NanoImprinter, is available for customers to order.

Founded by Jan Stensborg, an industry expert with many years of experience within the imprinting field, Stensborg A/S is the manufacturer of rollerbased UV-nanoimprint lithography (NIL) machines.

The new version of the roller-based prototyping tool provides customers with an improved optical engine, greater ability to explore new UV-curing resins, and overall better control of the imprinting process.

These improvements enable users to have a better experience of fast prototyping and testing for NIL process development. The machine’s uniqueness is further supported by two granted patents for the nip imprinting method and the optical curing engine within the tool.

Up until now, Stensborg has sold compact Roll-to-Plate (R2P) imprinting machines across three continents, with sales in 15 countries. The clients range from academic institutions and government laboratories to the private sector in a host of different industries.

The R2P NanoImprinter comes with the following features:

  • Optimised UV light source with better optics

  • Better compensation for different substrate thicknesses

  • Improved design on several mechanical parts, including a new substrate plate holder that reduces background light reflections

  • Upgraded plate motion control enabling very stable low- speed operations.

Like its predecessor, the Desktop R2P NanoImprinter is ideal for prototyping, small-scale imprinting and fast process development for micro/nanostructure- based devices. The compact R2P machine has applications in many different fields, such as photonics, biomedical devices, solar energy, and Augmented Reality, to name a few.

Christian Bjerrum-Niese, CEO, had the following to say about the Desktop R2P NanoImprinter. ‘Stensborg’s dedication is always to innovate, and to bring the best possible solutions to our clients. As the previous model, the HoloPrint® uniA6 DT, has been on the market for three years, we felt the urge to provide our customers with an upgraded version which supplies them with a better imprinting experience, offering them a greater edge over their competitors.’
