IHMA Company Profile – Shriram Veritech Solutions

The International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA) is made up of the world’s leading hologram suppliers and manufacturers. The association’s mission is to advance the understanding, use and development of holograms and holographic technology, particularly in the authentication of products and documents, decoration and illustration displays and display systems, energy and environmental improvements.

Luv Shriram, founder and CEO.

For a technology that impacts such a wide range of applications and sectors, it will come as no surprise that the companies that form the IHMA come in all shapes and sizes and are distributed across the whole globe. Which is why, each month, Holography News®, will be profiling a different IHMA member to help build a picture of the industry as a whole.

This month’s company profile is of Shriram Veritech Solutions PL (formerly Shriram Holographics PL) which, this year, is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its foundation. Initially, the enterprise was a trading company, but having been a victim of counterfeiting itself in one of its other business units and recognising the lack of domestic hologram manufacturers at the time, made the decision to set up its own manufacturing facilities in 1999.

The company has been a member of the IHMA for many years, continuing to get good value from services the association offers such as the Patent Newsletter, the Tender Alert Service and free access to Holography News® and The Holography Conference Online.

Today, the company employs more than 200 staff and is located about an hour by train or road from central Delhi. It is certified to ISO standards 9001, 18001, 27001 ISMS and 45001.

Veritech is a fully integrated producer and developer of anti-counterfeiting and traceability solutions including design, origination, UV recombination, electroforming and embossing of diffractive elements. It also has post-embossing capabilities such as coating, die cutting and slitting as well as services for customisation, software development and printing.

Luv Shriram, founder and CEO, leads a team of senior professionals who report directly to him for functions such as sales, marketing, production, procurement and HR.

According to Luv, one of the company’s key differentiators is its pro-active service, backed by a customer relationship management system and computerised traceability solution, which help to keep their more than 2,000 global customers happy (including Lamborghini, Yamaha, Michelin, Samsung and Schneider).

Luv feels that the growth of Veritech has been hampered in the past by low price realisation in India alongside the high cost of capital, but now says that the company is ‘expanding very aggressively in the last few years and we are changing our production lines from Indian / Chinese machines to European / other international machines including 4Pico, Diavy, Isra Vision, ABG and Valco Melton’.
