IOTA Sets 2026 Strategy with New Board Appointments

The International Optical Technologies Association (IOTA) held its electronic Annual General Meeting (e-AGM) on 24 February 2026, reaffirming its governance structure and presenting a strategic roadmap for the coming year.
Key highlights from 2025
During the e-AGM, the Chairman presented an annual activity report highlighting significant progress across key metrics:
- Membership & database expansion: seven new companies joined in 2025. The Security Image Register (SIR) grew significantly, with registrations increasing from 209 in 2024 to 484 in 2025. The repository now contains over 10,000 images spanning 13 optical technologies.
- Knowledge sharing: the patent monitoring initiative shared 1,245 patents with members. The Holography & Optical Technology News was also rebranded and expanded to 12 pages to cover a wider range of technologies.
- Awards and engagement: the inaugural IOTA Excellence Awards received 70 entries across six categories. Digital advocacy increased, generating over 127,000 impressions and significantly expanding the association’s social media following.
