SDS 2026: Bringing Together the Global Security and Identity Community in Beijing

When I attended the Security Document Summit (SDS) this year, the first thought that came to mind was how it was different from last year. This year’s event was held 27-28 May at the China National Convention Centre (CNCC).

Walking through the doors of the 20th anniversary event, the atmosphere felt advanced and mature, offering a look into a brand-new era representative of a further extension of future security and digital trust, driven by the integration of artificial intelligence, biometrics, and advanced optical technologies into unified ecosystems.

The annual flagship event was organised by the China International Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology (CIAPST) and the Security Identification Union (SIU), and its professional committee on Cards, Tickets, and Labels – including the China Trade Association for Anti-Counterfeiting (CTAA).
