ZEISS and tesa Partner for Industrial-Scale Holography

ZEISS and tesa have formalised a significant technical partnership aimed at scaling up the production of large-format holographic optical components. The collaboration, focused on transparent display technologies, marks an important step toward integrating holography into automotive and consumer applications at industrial volumes.

The agreement, announced on 13 May 2025 1, builds on earlier joint development work between the two German firms and sets a new course for the serial replication of holographic functional films. These films are designed to be laminated onto or embedded within transparent surfaces such as vehicle windscreens, side windows, or even smart home devices, enabling them to function as sophisticated display or sensing platforms.

Central to the effort is the combination of ZEISS’s expertise in micro-optics and holography with tesa’s advanced adhesive materials.
