Sanyo Introduces HILUCIS
Sanyo Chemical, a global manufacturer and supplier of performance chemicals based in Kyoto, Japan, has launched HILUCIS, a UV-curable nanoimprint resin designed to enhance the development of next-generation optical devices for Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR).
Nanoimprinted Wafer Source: Sanyo Chemical.
According to the company, this innovative material boasts exceptional transparency in the visible light spectrum, high compatibility with nanoimprinting, and an impressive balance of superior light resistance and a high refractive index (nd=1.9).
Development of HILUCIS
Nanoimprint technology is crucial in manufacturing optical devices, allowing the precise transfer of nanoscale patterns onto resin substrates. These devices include displays, smartphone cameras, AR/VR glasses, facial recognition systems, and sensors for autonomous driving. Advanced optical components, such as waveguides and diffraction gratings, facilitate light propagation, focusing, and diffraction.
