IOTA Launches Excellence in Optical Technologies Awards, Replacing Long-Standing Holography Awards

The International Optical Technologies Association (IOTA) has announced the first Excellence in Optical Technologies Awards, a new global initiative recognising innovation and technical achievement across the wider optical security technologies (OSTs) landscape.

This announcement marks a significant evolution from the Excellence in Holography Awards, which have celebrated breakthroughs in holographic technologies for over two decades. The new awards reflect IOTA’s broader scope following its transition from the International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA) to a more inclusive identity representing the full spectrum of OSTs.

ODDS to host debut award

The awards will be presented at the Optical & Digital Document Security™ (ODDS) conference in Warsaw this September.

ODDS makes a venue to honour the best in commercial optical security – from holography and micro-lens arrays, nano-gratings, colour-shifting to photonic crystals, plasmonics, and polarisation effects.
