From Ocean to Venus, Butterflies, Chameleon and Meadow
At the recent Global Currency Forum (GCF) in Oman, industry players showcased new security threads on themes ranging from butterflies, chameleons, meadows, and ocean to Venus.
Louisenthal Venus
Louisenthal unveiled RollingStar® Venus, an upgrade on the company’s portfolio of threads based on its micro-mirror technology. Rolling Star Venus is the first thread to utilise nanotechnology combined with micro-mirrors, enabling two brandnew effects for secure authentication.
When viewed straight on, these effects provide a precise two-colour appearance.
When tilted, however, they display completely different effects through synchronising colour change and movement (ColorFlip™) and the distinctive Color MotifFlip™.
RollingStar was first introduced in 2011, taking its name from the shaped light reflection that travels, or ‘rolls’ along the thread. The thread combines micromirror with ColourShift technology, which acts in concert to provide a defined movement sequence and striking colour change when the banknote is tilted.
