TwinColors® Patches: Two Layers of Micromirrors fore More Sophisticated Security

Giesecke+Devrient has introduced TwinColors® Patch as latest innovation in banknote security, elevating micromirror-based optical features to what it terms a new level of sophistication.

TwinColors Patch is a micromirror technology which doubles the security impact of the whole patch, of both the inner design motif (image, number or letter as a motif flip) and independently the outer dynamic effect.

Micromirror-based security features have been widely adopted since the launch of Louisenthal`s RollingStar®, and subsequent developments of RollingStar® LEAD and RollingStar® Patch. Intuitive public authentication and aesthetic appeal are increasingly becoming key focus areas for issuers, says the company, and this technology has been used on their medium to high denomination banknotes, with no record of counterfeits.

The advent of TwinColors Patch heightens the security bar, and marks the beginning of an entirely new category of security patches by doubling the security content, colour and dynamics.
