Reconnaissance and IHMA Secretariat See New and Familiar Faces

A membership organisation on the scale of the International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA), representing most of the world’s leading hologram companies, needs the backing of an active secretariat to deliver its range of member services, support its planned expansion and forge new industry collaborations.

Left to right: Micaal and Chander.

Reconnaissance International, publisher of Holography News® and secretariat to the IHMA, has recently added two industry seniors to help continue the work.

Micaal Sidorov, who is returning to Reconnaissance after a period pursuing other career opportunities within the ID document and security printing sectors, brings considerable business development, sales and marketing, market research and intellectual property management experience to the role of IHMA General Secretary.

He is looking forward to developing and expanding the membership base of the IHMA, in particular to include more non-traditional members coming from outside the security and brand protection industries.

Developing collaborative initiatives with the Counterfeit Intelligence Bureau, which includes expanding the Hologram Image Register to include images for other optically variable devices besides holograms will be one of Micaal’s immediate priorities.

The IHMA is also keen to consolidate relations with the Secure Identification Union in China and Intergraf, the security printers trade association. Other plans include a series of workshops, with the first one already delivered at the High Security Printing Conference EMEA in Abu Dhabi on 7-9 March.

Chander S Jeena has recently joined Reconnaissance International as Regional Director and will be supporting in activities like publishing, event management, consulting, and supporting the IHMA.

His experience in the anti-counterfeiting industry began with the Authentication Solution Providers’ Association in 2006. At ASPA, he had overall responsibility for operations. He initiated the Association Newsletter (The Authentication Times) and was Editor-in-Chief for the past 15 years. He was also part of the team which built brand awareness tools, including the Counterfeit News Repository, the Traceability and Authentication Forum, and the Brand Awareness Training programme and seminars.

Based in New Delhi, India, Chander brings a particular focus to the use of holography in document and brand protection in Asia.
