Obsidian: All-Black Holographic Lottery Scratch Games

Scientific Games (SG), the world’s leading lottery company and a long-time pioneer in holographic instant scratch games, has unveiled Obsidian, its latest premium breakthrough in scratch game design.

Part of SG’s expanding holographic portfolio, Obsidian made its debut at the North American Association of State & Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) 2025 Conference in Ontario, Canada. The launch reinforces the company’s leadership in combining visual impact with player experience.

Featuring 18 distinctive design concepts, Obsidian games blend deep black tones with advanced holographic effects to create a sleek, glass-like finish. Inspired by naturally occurring volcanic rock, the Obsidian range delivers a bold, ultra-premium look and a highly tactile scratch experience aimed at attracting both players and retailers.

Obsidian is among several new product designs being showcased by Scientific Games at NASPL 2025. All were developed by the company’s Innovation and Discovery teams at its metro Atlanta global headquarters, home to the world’s largest lottery instant game production facility.
